Concrete Polishing: Polishing concrete is similar to sanding wood.

Wood requires sandpaper and the smoother the desired result, the finer the grit is used. When polishing concrete, a machine, called a concrete polisher is used. There are many types of polishing machines but they all get the same desired result. A polishing machine uses metal-bonded or resin-bonded diamond pads instead of sandpaper. Some benefits of a polished concrete floor is that it’s maintenance free and extremely durable. It actually holds up better than a “regular”concrete floor. The polishing process closes the pores of the concrete and gives the floor a smooth, glass-like appearance. A concrete densifier is applied near the last step to chemically harden the floor so the concrete can be polisher to higher levels. A floor is considered polished at 800-grit. We can offer polishes up to 3000 grit.
